Courage is sometimes dangerous. A number of years ago, a week before my friend was to get married, we had a stag party at his father's farm. His father had been making a 20' diameter pile of brush from his property for a large bonfire for this occasion. We started the fire and stood well back as the heat was quite intense. About 15 minutes into it, we started to hear some meowing from the fire. It appeared that a wild cat was trapped within it. We tried to approach the fire to help but couldn't get any closer than about 15' because of the heat.

My friend, the future groom, didn't hesitate. He went straight in, moved some of the branches closest to the sound and retrieved the small terrified animal. It was a small kitten. My friend had his eyebrows singed and was somewhat sunburnt from the rescue. He gained a little pet from the experience and a lot of admiration from his friends and family.

This is absolutly heartwarming, too many people would of just been happier to let the cat die and not risk any harm themselves, you're friend has a good heart and soul.
